THE LADIES AUXILIARY

OUR MEETING START TIME IS NOW 1:30 PM!  LUNCH 12:30 AM IN CLUB HOUSE!

HISTORY

    The Mansfield Liederkranz Ladies Auxiliary was founded in 1975-76 after the disbanding of the Liederkranz Singing Group. At that time Elsie Schwechheimer went to the board of directors and asked if she could form the Ladies Auxiliary to replace the singing group. The board voted on the issue and the group was official. Their first official meeting was held on August 2, 1977.  Elsie Schwechheimer was then voted to the position of the first president and founder of the Ladies Auxiliary.

    The Ladies Auxiliary meets every 2^nd Tuesday of the month at the Mansfield Liederkranz  at 1:30 pm. This is preceded by lunch in the Club House at 12:30 pm.  The business sessions last approximately one hour. The remainder of the meeting time is spent in fellowship, working on various crafts or playing games. Members sign up at the beginning of the year to provide refreshments for the monthly meetings. These are also enjoyed at the meetings.

    The Ladies Auxiliary is involved in several major activities of the club. We are in charge of the annual Sweetheart Dinner/Dance. We hold regular bake sales on special holidays, such as Christmas and Easter. We are also in charge of the procuring and selling of baked goods for our annual club picnic and for the annual Octoberfest. We have planned bus trips to various places of interest to the general membership of the club.

    The Ladies Auxiliary is open to the general membership. There is no limit to the size of our membership.

    Officers of the Ladies Auxiliary are elected by the majority vote of all the ladies in attendance at our monthly meeting in June of each year. Any member in good standing, who is nominated by an existing member, is eligible to run for office. The elected officers remain in office until such time new officers are elected.

    Our offices include the president, vice-president, recording secretary, treasurer, and membership secretary.
