Although early arrivals of Oktoberfest-goers may have been delayed by a steady rain shower, the attendance steadily increased throughout the afternoon. Entertainment for the event was provided by Hank Haller and his band. Once again, the audience was treated to a fine mix of polkas, waltzes and even a few line dances (performed by audience request). All of these items are glowing reflection on the Donauschwaben heritage and received an appreciative applause by the membership and guests. The group members and their supervisors have been working hard for months to develop and perfect their routines. The club officers and its entire membership wish them luck in Milwaukee. During the second band intermission the audience was entertained by the Senior Dance Group. This year the group has several new couples that performed in the entrance and exit marches. The veteran members of the group gave another exciting and precise performance of many beloved folk dances. It is always obvious that the members have devoted a lot of time and effort in rehearsing their routines. Their harmonious and perfect dance movements remain an enormous crowd pleaser.
