Description "Die Lustigen Schauspieler" is a special interest group within the Mansfield Liederkranz that desires to promote the German and Donauschwaben heritage in song, dance, dress, language, etc. Its mission includes being educational, entertaining, and to help and support club events.
History Die Lustigen Schauspieler is a group of club members who were originally members of the Adult German Language Class that was sponsored by the Mansfield Liederkranz. During the study of the German language the members felt a need to learn more about the culture and share their experience with the other club members. In 2002 several members decided to meet after the Adult Language class meetings to compile and promote its mission. The first public effort of Die Lustigen Schauspieler was a shortened version of "Rumpelstilzchen" performed during the Anniversary Dinner Dance, November 2002.
Meeting Times Die Lustigen Schauspieler typically meet for practices on Friday evenings 6:00-8:00PM. The place may vary; so please call ahead.. Since we are having so much fun, we often forget to go home. Ha!
Schedules A list of scheduled events is constantly being compiled. At the beginning of our group we were active at the Landestreffen der Donauschwaben at the Mansfield Liederkranz in August 2003. We had a skit performance at the club dance in November 2003. Other skits and song events have been performed since that time. Additional performances will be scheduled throughout the coming year.
Performances Presently all performances of this group are to be held on the grounds at the Mansfield Liederkranz. However, we have had several performances out of town.
Membership Membership in this group is open to all members of the Mansfield Liederkranz. The only requirements are: 1) to be members, or prospective members, of the club (or family of members); 2) an enjoyment of the German and Donauschwaben culture; 3) a commitment to attending all practices, meetings, performances, and events.
Invitation Any person who would like to join this group is invited to attend one of our meetings. Please contact any present member for the particulars.

Performance Pictures May 2007- Annehurst School in Westerville, Ohio
June 2007- Overland Inn Reopening Dedication in McCutchenville, Ohio Harvest Skit November 2003 The group performed its own version of a Harvest skit during the first band break at the 23rd Anniversary Dinner Dance held on November 22, 2003. The performance included song, dialog, beer, and, yes, even a short plattler. The skit was written and developed by the group as well as the home made farm implements. The members of the group hope that the dinner/dance attendees enjoyed the mini event. We are striving to promote our heritage at the club through song, dance, dialog, humor, etc. We welcome any suggestions for future performances. ![]()
