Donauschwaben Arrive In Mansfield

  The Mansfield Liederkranz will host a large gathering of Donauschwaben Labor Day weekend at their clubhouse and grounds on Silver Lane in Mansfield.

    More than 1,000 visitors from all over the United States and Canada are expected to celebrate their German heritage during the convention.

    Donauschwaben are an ethnic German group who hail from a German-speaking region along the Danube River in the former Yugoslavia. They were forced from their homeland during World War II. Many of them settled in the United States and Canada.

    The public is invited to attend the Saturday and Sunday events which will feature German food, music and dance.
